Pour un Sourire d'Enfant (PSE) is a humanitarian association founded in 1995 by Christian and Marie-France des Pallières. After witnessing the dire conditions of children living and working on a garbage dump in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, they initiated efforts to provide these children with meals and access to education. Over the years, PSE has expanded its programs to address various aspects of child welfare, including nutrition, healthcare, protection, education, vocational training, and family support.
- Today, PSE supports over 6,500 children annually across Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville. Their initiatives include daily meal programs, medical care, protective services for at-risk children, remedial education, vocational training aligned with the Cambodian job market, and support for families through rice distributions and professional training for parents.
- The organization is recognized for its effective management and transparency, having received the Human Rights Prize of the French Republic in 2000. PSE operates with a predominantly Khmer team in Cambodia, emphasizing local empowerment and sustainability.
